No, I have not forgotten

As many of you know, I am currently swamped with my to do list. And it seems that my to do list got longer this weekend when my Internet decided to be dumb. So I am currently blogging from my phone. But right now is not the best time to give my thoughts because I should be sleeping. I just had to post so that I don't start a tumult of late posts! Ciao!

Apparently being consistent: late update

Lots of things going on right now.

I just got my laptop back, and I have yet to organize everything that needs to be organized. I really need to focus. This following weekend I am hoping to hole myself into my room and get everything done that needs to be done. The past two days I feel like I've done accidental procrastination. I keep forgetting that I am taking 19 credits, and I can't play with my friends everyday who only have 12 or 15 credits. I want to graduate this semester, and I want to take all the classes that I am currently taking, but with the added social aspect of being a student, it becomes difficult to focus!

I am going to get back on track!

Busy, busy, busy!

It was a busy Sunday night, it was homework night, and then after that it was preparing to go back to school Monday.  I didn't roll into bed until 1:40a or so. The things that my sister, my dad, my mom, Oma, and I did yesterday are as follows:

I think, but I'm not sure, that Dad snow blowed the driveway.
Mom made chicken noodle soup for the following week for lunches
I furthered my search for a Masters, and decided on which schools I want to apply to
Mom cooked four gourds of squash for snacking
I read the syllabus for my marketing class, and it was over 20 pages long
My sister played Webkinz on the computer
Oma came over, and showed Mom, my sister and I how to make a scarf out of an old t-shirt
I outlined a paper for my management class
We all watched the football game between the Packers and the Giants
Dad took a nap on the couch
My mom, my sister and I made heart shaped sugar cookies with frosting and sprinkles
Dad went and got chinese food for dinner ( and a subway sandwich for my sister )
My sister did her homework, which was reading
I read a chapter of my marketing book
Dad came back with food for dinner, and we all ate dinner
Dad fell asleep on the couch
My sister went to bed
Mom and I went through some of the arts and crafts boxes in the basement
Dad went to bed
Mom and I made a list of possible meal ideas for me for the semester
Mom and I figured out a budget for my semester
I went to bed
My mom went to bed

So, I wasn't able to fit an update for my blog into my schedule on Sunday. I am posting the craziness of yesterday in a list, as a testament to how busy it actually was on Sunday.

New Decisions

A lot has gone on in the past three days since my last post. I almost feel that the stress is slowly creeping up on me. Going back to classes has left me exhausted at the end of the day, but I still want to enjoy time with friends and have "me time." I was able to complete the organization of my room on Monday. It practically took all the break time I had between classes, but it was worth it so that I can relax in my room.

This semester I am hoping to base everything off of plans, and griding out my time so that there is no wasted moment. It became more necessary the further I got into the week. Monday I had three classes: a graphic design practium class that deals with real clients, a graphic design history class that relates to more recent graphic designers from 1960 through now, and a management class. So a pretty full first day that starts at 8:00a and ends at 9:00p.

After a tiring Monday, I slept in Tuesday morning until my first class. I am really excited about this class because it is my first class that I've taken that is taught by Professor Bruski. It is a class that helps reconstruct a portfolio that can help in acquiring a job. This class is called professional practice. During this class, I left to get a coffee at the design cafe downstairs, and I ran into one of my favorite professors, Brenda Jones. Once I got back to class, I talked to professor Bruski about my plans for my future. His advice was extremely useful, and I developed several ideas and plans for my portfolio and this semester.

After class I headed to Brenda's office to talk with her and hammer out a few of my ideas and plans for the future, and started to move forward. I decided to take a step in advance for the future by taking an independent study class from Brenda in painting. Now, granted that I am enrolled 18 credits already, I applied for only a one credit course so that I wouldn't be overwhelmed with projects and other situations. It seems that this choice can become fairly flexible. I am so excited for working with Brenda again, and being able to paint again this semester.

I attended her class that same day at 2:00, and got all set up to be a part of the studio. After getting set up, I left to go to my Marketing class across campus. It seemed like it would be a fairly straightforward class and should be a class I can learn something from. After that class I had another graphic design class that deals with practical graphic design stuff like taxes, clients, job interviews, and guest speakers. Another long day! And that was just the scholastic part of my day, I also taked to friends and family and met up with people that I hadn't seen in a while.

Today was a long day. I only had two classes, but I also was getting things set up for the rest of the semester. I had my practium class today, as well as my graphic design history class. I also hung out with my friend Rebekah, officially added my independent study course, and took my laptop computer to get its hard drive fixed. So many things going on. I have a list super long to get in order, due dates, and plenty of syllabi to read. Wish me luck with my semester, it's gonna be a handful!

School Starts Tomorrow!

So, I moved into my apartment yesterday. My family came and moved everything around in my room. My dad set up my futon for me, and my brother set up my computer, desk, and internet area. So, last night I slept in my apartment for the first time. Yay! It was a little chilly because my window has a leak in it, and it lets in a little cold air. But, that's okay because I have tons of blankets.

Anyway, today I took all of my clothes out of boxes and hung them up in the closet. My closet is so awesome! I have a walk in closet, but I also have a normal closet.  My clothes took up my entire walk in closet, I was kind of overwhelmed with how many clothes that I have in my closet. I feel like I could probably get by the entire semester without wearing the same thing twice.

So now my closet is super fabulous, and organized. I just hope that it stays that way. ( I doubt it. ) I also had a chance to clean out my purse today. I had three wallets in my purse, foreign currency, old receipts, coupons from August 2010, and gum wrappers. I really needed to weed out stuff that I didn't need to carry around.

I then watched a few episodes of random things on my hulu plus account. I really like having that set up, so that I can watch shows when I want to watch them. It was funny though, because after my roommate left, I got nervous being in the apartment by myself and ended up in my room with the door closed. The apartment was making weird ticking noises. But I got over it when my roommate got back.

My roommate's name is Kaitlin, she is super awesome. She goes to the same college as I do, and is in the same major. We went to Rome with the Rome program through our college last semester. She said that friends were coming over to watch movies so I took a shower and got presentable.

Our friend Jared came over, and we started to watch a movie, but it was really hard to focus on the movie because we haven't been able to talk to him since last year. We ended up leaving mid-movie to go look for Super Dogs in Campus Town, however, since it is a Sunday, the stand wasn't there. We ended up at Jimmy Johns and I had a weird sort of turkey sandwich.

We ended up going back to our apartment and watched random stuff on cable. I tried making coffee, without doing any work, and it turned out really bad. Apparently you need to change the ground coffee beans every time. It's just so messy that I didn't want to deal with that and ended up making some really horrible coffee.

Anyway, school starts tomorrow. I have 18 credits this semester, so I am so excited to get started. ( Did you buy that? ) I really hope I graduate unscathed this semester. I am trying to get multiple things done this semester, and I want to do it all perfectly, but I know that I need to be more flexible with my perfectionism. Okay then, wish me luck on my first couple of days!

P.S. For those of you who were wondering, my doggie, Grace, is okay. She has fatty lumps: one on her back, one on her rump, and one on her head. My family is doing our best to make sure she is comfortable. She is currently on pain medicine, and she has difficulty breathing sometimes, but she still comes and greets us at the door when we get home.

Following my sister

Today was mostly devoted to my lovely little sister. I drove her to school this morning, and I also went to recess, lunch, math, science and second recess with her at school. Then I went home to freshen up while she finished the last half an hour of her day. I then met her at our dance studio at 4:30, and stayed and watched barre, two other classes, and stretch class. Around 7:00, dad took us home to have spaghetti dinner.

So, quite a busy little sister.

It's almost time for school!

Today was a full day for everyone it feels like. There are many things going on that need to be done before school starts. Just yesterday everyone was celebrating the new year, and today, everyone is stressing out. At least that's how it feels for me.

I woke up early this morning so that I could take some of my belongings to my apartment for school. It was slightly frustrating because I had minor surgery on my shoulder about two weeks ago, and the area is starting to bruise a little. I felt a little bad as I held the door open for my dad and my brother as they loaded the elevator up with my things. I'll have to make a second trip to my apartment to get all the furniture into place, but for now, it is fairly bare. After getting everything into the apartment, I wanted to stay and organize for a little bit, but there wasn't enough time today for that. We went to the fitness center that's signed up with last year to cancel my membership, but I apparently paid through January already, so I'll have to work out more often this months to make up for last year when I was gone all summer, and in Rome for the fall, and still had to pay for my membership. (which doesn't make sense in my opinion, but it couldn't be withheld for the time I was gone.)

Well anyway, my dad, my brother, and I got back to our house as quick as possible, so that we could go to a movie that my sister has been absolutely dying to see: Alvin and the Chipmonks Chipwrecked. Apparently that was important to her, as we found out through minor drama. (sisters can be sisters.) It was a fairly good movie. Well, it was at least better than I thought it was going to be. There were some really silly scenes, and some heartfelt ones as well.

After the movie we came home, to make dinner and vege out. When we got back, our doggies greeted us at the door, but one of our doggies isn't feeling well, she'll most likely have to be seen buy the doggie hospital tomorrow. I hope all goes well. It's time for dinner now though, gotta go!
